23-24 Rise Kohyang Middle School Culture Aide Job at Bright Star Schools
The Culture Aide will work closely with the Dean of Restorative Practices and Assistant Principal of Culture to create a safe, supportive, and structured school environment. Focusing largely on student culture and expectations, the aide contributes to a school campus that is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive of all students.
Major Duties and Responsibilities of the Culture Aide:
School Climate and Culture
Clearly communicating the school’s mission and vision, as well as expectations of students, and ensuring a culture of belonging- Serve as one of the point persons for responding to student behavior issues
- Leading interventions and managing responses to tier 1 behaviors
- Supporting faculty and staff in building positive relationships and community on campus, especially as it relates to issues of discipline
- Supporting teachers with classroom management and consistent expectations; holding all students to fair, high expectations
- Document student behaviors to inform and implement interventions as necessary
- Be highly present and visible during school hours, ensuring that the school has an appropriate supportive and structured school culture, which includes proactively circulating throughout the school campus
- Supporting conflict resolutions through restorative conference in partnership with students, faculty, and families
- Support crisis management when needed
- Support with supervision during student arrival, transitions, breaks, lunches, dismissal, and school events
- Help strengthen existing systems and create new systems when responding to behavioral issues
- Keep accurate student discipline records/documentation using DeansList and Aeries
- Communicate regularly with faculty regarding student discipline and follow-up with stakeholders while upholding student confidentiality
- Communicate with parents regarding student behavior and interventions used
- Support students in developing self-regulation and positive, effective coping skills
- Implement appropriate consequences in alignment with school and organizational policies
- Check-in with students who have been assigned interventions for completion status
- Preferred: Spanish or Korean verbal and written fluency
