Hood Packaging is currently recruiting for a Shafter for our Hamlet, NC plant.

• Quality, quantity, waste amounts, safety of personnel and equipment. Comprehends and follows Operator's instructions, assists in and learns set-ups, shutdowns, and downtime procedures.
• Responsible for correct order information and selecting proper materials for the order.
• Responsible for recording accurate information on daily machine reports.
• Responsible for understanding and ensuring that proper materials and procedures are followed for transporting materials to the Tuber
• Must know, follow and demonstrate compliance with all safety rules and understand working safely is a condition of employment
• Assist in assuring HACCP, GMP's, Work Instructions and Food Safety Quality System requirements (SQF) are in compliance

Functional Requirements

• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work flexible hours.

• Read and understand a manufacturing order
• Understand and demonstrate the mechanics of the machine and properly setting-up the machine to meet the requirements of the manufacturing order
• Must demonstrate knowledge and ability to complete a quality monitor
• Basic computer / data input skills are required
• Basic math skills and ability to read a ruler are required
• Must consistently meet or exceed start-up/shutdown and run scrap goals
• Must work effectively as a team player and demonstrate and promote team spirit
• Must be able to successfully communicate with other team members to ensure customer requirements are met
• Relieves Operators and/or others in the chain of command as required
• Must demonstrate successful knowledge, practice, understanding and compliance of all current work instructions for this position.
• Demonstrate, follow and practice all safety rules, policies, practices and practices at all times
• Must understand and demonstrate the mechanics/functions of the machine as outlined in the 30,60,90 day learning tasks
