The New England Center for Children (NECC) Partner Program housed at Paul Elementary School is based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and staff work under supervision from a Lead Teacher and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Experience with ABA is a bonus but not required, as there will be formal training as well as on the job training.
-Staff report to the Wakefield administration, the NECC Lead Teacher, and the NECC Clinical Supervisor
-This position is a full year position including extended school year (several weeks over the summer with shortened hours)
-Staff will be expected to attend training
-Paraprofessional II certification is a bonus but not required
-Staff need to be able to collaborate, work together as part of a team, and be flexible to help meet the needs of the students in the program.
-Daily duties include ensuring safety of students, providing direct instruction to students in 1:1 or 1:2 ratio (including discrete trial, incidental teaching, task analysis), assisting students in navigating their general education classes as appropriate, implementing written behavior plans, and collecting data on skills and behaviors throughout the day.
-Weekly duties include summarizing and graphing data, participating in meetings and training, and helping modify curriculum/make materials for the student as necessary.
-Other duties may include monitoring progress on IEP goals, meeting with Lead Teacher to assess student progress, assisting with gathering information for progress reports, and conducting any additional assessments or making additional materials as prescribed by the Lead Teacher.
