Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist - Anchorage (Job ID: USA0002P2)

SUMMARY: The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for performing a broad range of complex accounting functions with lead responsibility for accounting records.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Accounts Receivable Specialist performs a broad range of accounts receivable, credit, collections and general finance department functions. Performs daily reconciliation and posting of financial transactions to the general ledger. Reconciles customer transactions, performs research and takes corrective actions. Monitors and takes appropriate action on customer accounts to assist with collections and credit limit review. Performs billing, cash receipts, database maintenance, processing of complex billing, distribution of customer documents requiring special handling and a variety of customer service-related tasks. Assures transactions are processed in the appropriate accounting period and in compliance with company standards. Assists with inventory reconciliations to assure accuracy and integrity of billing transactions. Analyzes and verifies consistency, completeness and accuracy of documents and initiates corrections as needed. Communicates professionally with internal and external customers. Assists in training as needed.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent, with related course work after high school and job-related training. Associate's degree a plus.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five (5) years of general accounting experience preferably in the areas of billing and accounts receivable.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient with Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.

COMPETENCIES: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to demonstrate effective customer service skills. Ability to prioritize, organize and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously while meeting assigned deadlines. Ability to perform accurately in a detail-oriented environment. Ability to gather, interpret, report and use data and other information concerning assigned activities. Ability to function effectively with a variety of team members. Ability to prepare clear and concise documents, including but not limited to reports, procedural documents, correspondences and other written materials. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Extended use of a computer keyboard, viewing of a computer monitor and the ability to sit for long periods of time.
