Adaptive Physical Education Teacher Job at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center
Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a full time Adaptive Physical Education teacher for our Rosewood school in Cheektowaga. This is a year-round teaching position that includes teaching a 6 week summer program. The physical education teacher is responsible for planning and providing appropriate learning experiences for students, both in small group settings and individual sessions for elementary school-age (K-2) children. The school-age students have significant developmental delays/disabilities, autism, or other diagnosis.
The physical education teacher works as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team in developing and implementing goals for each child's Individualized Education Plan.
Qualified applicants will have:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree in physical education. Master's degree preferred.
- 1-2 years teaching experience preferred, specifically with special education children.
- New York State Teaching Certification in Physical Education.
