BCAUSEICAN is a 501(c)3 organization located in Greenbelt, MD. Our mission is to equip communities in need with STEM education to prevent socioeconomic disparities. Our programs consist of our BCAUSEICANCODE Computer Coding program and our multilingual Family Technology Workshop classes. We are advocates for STEM and Computer Science and expose our students to several cutting-edge computer technologies

The Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Operations Manager, Program Managers, and CEO of BCAUSEICAN to provide day to day support of operational tasks.

We are looking for an organized and professional assistant to handle much of the communications with our company. The assistant's responsibilities will also include managing scheduling of classes and meetings, corporate schedules, making travel plans, and reviewing invoices.

This role requires someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to collaborate with several contributors in the organization. This is a hybrid position, so there will be requirements to perform activities in-person. This role also requires someone who is available for a minimum of 3-5 hours per week with an expectation to check emails on a daily basis.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Monitor emails and respond accordingly.
  • Assist Operations Manager and Program Managers with developing and maintaining processes and procedures.
  • Schedule meetings on behalf of the CEO.
  • Review invoices provided by contractors, performing quality assurance.
  • Arrange the class schedule utilizing both Google Calendar and Homebase.
  • Types letters, correspondences, reports and presentations as needed.
  • Attend steering committee meetings at various PG County Schools when requested.
  • Identify problems in the operations process and resolve them in conjunction with the operations manager and CEO.
  • Analyze and improve organizational process and workflow, implement changes.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, organizations operations manual and policies.
  • Assist with registration for classes, create forms, and arrange paperwork in preparation for new classes.
  • Create Certificates and assist in organization Fundraisers.
  • Work with Marketing/Social Media team to provide content for special class events
  • Assist the Grant team and the Social Media team in capturing reporting data such as student progress, team wins, testimonials, and service to the community.
  • Maintain the Instructor’s information which includes: address, phone number and T-shirts
  • Assist with end of class wrap up including planning celebrations and post class assessments.

Requirements

  • An Associates Degree or higher is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience is desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fully computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite products.
  • Highly organized and a self starter.
  • Must be local and willing to occasionally travel to PG county schools and should have a reliable form of transportation.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
