Denise Louie Education Center is a local nonprofit providing comprehensive, multi-cultural early education and family support services to low-income, at-risk immigrant, and refugee communities residing in King County for over 40 years. Today, Denise Louie serves nearly 950 children and families with preschool, home visiting, and socialization groups-all of which are offered at no cost.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Administrative Assistant to join our Early Head Start team. The Administrative Assistant provides direct support to the home visiting department. In this role, you will work with internal and external individuals and groups to ensure that the program is supported in line with Denise Louie Education Center and ECEAP program standards.
Essential Functions:
- Provide basic Denise Louie Education Center program information to callers, applicants, site visitors, and current program activity information.
- Coordinate meetings, training, staff, and parent events by securing venues or meeting room reservations, interpreters and/or childcare as needed, food, planning, set-up, material preparation, clean-up, and documentation.
- Manage supply inventory: coordinates orders according to DLEC finance policy and procedure and keeps supplies organized and accessible to staff. This includes purchasing and credit card processing with supporting documentation. Supplies may include food and office supplies, books and toys for families, gifts, training materials, etc.
- Monitor the use of company vehicle, with support of Director of HR and General Operations
- Maintain the HV team calendars, onboarding, training, and meeting documentation. Receives and distributes mail and packages. Assists with training others as needed.
- Maintain administrative documentation including, but not limited to, in kind, interpretation/translation, purchase requests, credit cards, travel, and training requests.
- Support department leads with administrative functions. Including but not limited to: record requests, processing child records, data entry and review, child file uploads and folder maintenance, flier creation and distribution, enrollment material printing and distribution, training binders, material purchasing, and distribution.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in organizing DLEC online files.
- Assist with copying, filing, and other general office tasks.
- Ensure clean and organized EHS/Admin conference rooms and kitchen.

Qualifications:
- AA degree in a related field required; BA preferred
- One year of office administration experience
- Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; ability to multitask.
- Ability to complete complex projects independently
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner
- Excellent strategic thinking, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to be flexible and succeed in a fluid work environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and database systems required
Pay Range: $20.89 - $26.46/hour. External hourly candidates can expect to make $20.89 - $23.68/hr DOE.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:
Physical Demands: To perform the job, the employee is frequently required to talk, hear, stand, walk, stoop, and balance, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms. The incumbent will be required to carry materials weighing up to 40 lbs. frequently, occasionally lifting to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions: Option to complete some tasks remotely, on-site responsibilities in an office setting with regular family-centered events. Occasional travel to other site locations may be required.
