Apraxis Center is a Cobb County based wellness therapy center located in Marietta that provides in- person / telehealth forms of psychotherapy / counseling, as well as experiential modalities of therapy. Our experiential offerings include wilderness and adventure based therapy in local and international settings.

We are seeking an instructor/guide to help provide basic rock climbing and paddling skills to participants of our "basecamp adventure therapy group." One of the intentions of this group is to expose emerging adults to adventure activities like climbing and paddling (kayaks, SUP, boating) where they have both the chance to develop skills in these activities, and then put them to use in our monthly "excursions".

This is part-time, contracted position. Please submit your resume if you have the following qualifications and interests

Experience instructing individuals and groups in rock climbing and paddling activities
Possess necessary certifications that demonstrate competencies in teaching and supervising individuals and groups in rock climbing and padding activities

Rock climbing certificate from a nationally recognized organizations: American Mountain Guides
Association (AMGA); Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA); American Alpine
Institute (AAI); National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS)
Swift Water Paddling certificate from a nationally recognized organization: American Canoe
Association (ACA); Rescue 3 International: National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR);
Swiftwater Safety Institute (SSI)

Experience working with young adult population
Exposure or experience working in the mental health field is a bonus
First Aid, or Wilderness First Responder certification
Strong communication skills
Ability to read and understand group dynamics and how to adapt and accommodate when needed
Willing to travel locally, nationally and possible internationally if opportunity presents it
Work collaboratively with clinical team
