The Alumni Development Coordinator performs the following functions:
Philanthropic Support – Plan, develop, and execute programs to engage, cultivate, and solicit alumni and community prospects to create an ongoing base of annual giving resources. Establish annual fund objectives, timelines, and multi-year goals. Effectively plan and coordinate annual fund campaigns and special events to engage alumni, college faculty, staff, students, and the community. Develop and maintain a portfolio of up to $1,000 donor prospects through the identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process. Develop and execute Phonathon Program strategies; responsible for the recruiting, organizing, training, directing, and retaining of volunteers and student callers, to include training of effective annual fundraising methods. Develop, implement, and manage a new student philanthropy honors program to include recruiting student participants and community non-profit partners. Work collaboratively with other College Advancement team members to support department initiatives and help attain and maximize Foundation and College goals.
Alumni Engagement and Development Programs - Forms strong working relationships with internal and external constituents, college faculty and staff, and corporate partners who have high rates of employment for York Tech alumni. Coordinates the promotion of career development and life-long learning programs for alumni. Serves as the liaison and coordinator for the Alumni Connection Advisory Group. Attends all meetings of the Advisory Group and creates reports regarding the progress and activities of the Alumni Connection for the Foundation Board. Responsible for recruiting and organizing alumni volunteers to create and maintain pathways for alumni participation that leads to alumni giving. Performs solicitation and discovery research on prospective and assigned alumni constituents. Activate and manage a comprehensive alumni and stewardship program through personal visits, events, appeals, correspondence, newsletters, and impact and stewardship reports. Monitor donor acquisition, recognition, engagement, and retention. Effectively plan and coordinate special events for special programs and projects as needed. Identify outstanding alumni worthy of college-wide and community recognition through the creation of an alumni awards program and development of standardized award nomination and review processes.
Development and Alumni Communications – Responsible for aligning printed materials, website, and social and digital media with the York Tech Foundation and College Advancement plans for alumni, donor, and community relations. Work collaboratively with the Advancement Services and Operations Manager and Strategic Communications and Marketing Department to develop and disseminate creative marketing and communication plans for alumni, development, and Foundation projects and events. Create reports, presentations, and other communications for leadership. Monitor industry trends and make recommendations for changes and enhancements. Develop and write proposals to public and private corporations and foundations through researching and compiling institutional information for projects requiring funding. Identify potential funding sources to align with existing and future College programs. Assist faculty and staff with the evaluation and development of proposal concepts. Monitor tracking reports of submitted proposals and donor activity.
Special Events and Affinity Partnerships – Plan and lead special events and fundraisers to support the mission of the College and the Foundation. Coordinate timelines, sponsorship levels, secure financial support, and assist in the development of marketing and solicitation materials. Coordinate events and programs to engage alumni, students, and community members to develop affinity building programs for the student ambassador, pre-alumni, and philanthropy clubs. Create benefits for alumni programs by identifying, developing, and securing affinity program partnerships.
Perform other duties as assigned and/or related to the College Advancement division and the College as a whole.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least one year of experience with alumni/client relations, fundraising, special events planning, grant writing, non-profit development and/or advancement services.
