General Summary:
The Application Analyst is responsible for implementing and maintaining software applications and interfaces in the Laboratory-Pathology department. Oversees integration of laboratory instruments with software applications. Serves as the Hospital project lead for software upgrades and enhancements to the Lab-Path Information Systems (LIS) and for overseeing their transition to next-generation systems. Participates in ongoing system support, performs departmental process analysis, and recommends enhancements. Assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures and standards. Provides training on LIS.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelors' Degree or equivalent education/experience in computer science or related field, to include at least three years' experience as a systems analyst in a clinical setting, OR
Degree in Medical Technology (ASCP) with five years as an LIS Analyst with hands-on experience with laboratory information systems.
