About the Role: We are looking for a 3rd shift Area Leader for the Qualified for Regulatory Manufacturing team. In this role, you will be joining a growing team to help ensure we are meeting our operations objectives and business needs. The standard weekly hours are Sunday at 11pm – Friday at 7:30 am.

This role will be located at our Cherry Hill facility in Elkton, Maryland.

Please note that evening, night and weekend shift positions are eligible for an additional $2/hour shift differential pay (in California, the shift differential pay is $2.40/hour).

Responsibilities:
  • Effectively communicate and achieve the tactical plan for the shift and area, while also partnering with the other shift leaders to ensure continuity across the shifts
  • Utilize quality systems to ensure that processes consistently deliver products that meet customers’ expectations, legal, and regulatory requirements
  • Partner with cross functional teams (Process Engineering, Skilled Trades, Quality, etc.) to champion projects in support of safety, quality, productivity improvements, and innovation (NPD) support
  • Contribute to the observance of environmental, health, and safety requirements in the work area
  • Actively participate and lead continuous improvement efforts
  • Facilitate the weekly stand-up meeting for the team and occasionally present topics at the periodic team meetings
  • Partner with Production Leaders to understand and influence shift staffing and cross training needs
  • Model the Gore culture and lead by example to create an inclusive working environment
  • Responsible for shift team performance, which includes addressing, communicating, and documenting performance issues
  • Operate manufacturing equipment as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience running complex equipment
  • Experience working within a defined quality system and making sound product quality decisions
  • Experience delivering constructive feedback in a one-to-one communication style
  • Experience utilizing Continuous Improvement tools to identify root cause and drive improvement within a team
  • Experience influencing individuals and teams both within manufacturing and across support functions
  • Demonstrated experience practicing and teaching the Gore Culture
  • Demonstrated effective leading and/or sponsoring of associates
  • Demonstrated success managing multiple and often conflicting priorities
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills; both verbal and written
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment which includes wearing hairnet, frock, gloves, shoe covers and beard cover (where applicable), and no makeup

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous Team Leader experience
  • Experience with MES or ERP transactions
  • Experience in an FDA/GMP regulated environment
