What does success look like?

• Repairs dies, Stamping and molds, disassembles molds, jigs, tools, and fixtures, then reassembles when repaired.
• Reads and understands blueprints and complicated schematics as required to create and build new fixtures, tools, and machine parts.
• Inspects tools and dies for signs of imperfection or damage that may affect functionality.
• Regularly evaluate equipment, tools, and machines to ensure they are arranged and set properly and working efficiently.
• Modifies machines to control speed, material feed, or path of cut as required to ensure a quality product is produced within specifications.
• Understand geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
• Inspection gages/measuring equipment to check component and assembly quality
• Use circle grid analysis to reduce material stretch and eliminate breakage
• Maintain tooling nitrogen systems
• Support preventative maintenance schedules and spare parts inventory
• Identify tool steels and heat treat them when necessary
• Maintain logs and drawings complete with fixture dimensions that produce the highest process capability index (C.P.K.)
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What you will bring:

Education

• Must pass Trigonometry, Blueprint Reading, Machine/tool equip. inquiry = 75% or higher

Experience

• Minimum of five years’ experience as a journeyperson tool & die

**Either HS Diploma/GED + 5 Years exp -OR- journeyperson certificate

• Knowledge of welding tool steels for repair needs (preferred)
• Understanding of die stamping process
