Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:15pm, every/other Saturday 8:30am-12:15pm(Hours vary based on branch staffing needs).

About The Job

Sandy Spring Bank is currently recruiting an Assistant Branch Manager. If you are the chosen candidate, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operational and service functions in a retail branch office. You will assist in developing new retail and commercial client relationships and expanding existing relationships utilizing professional sales techniques to prospect, identify, and meet client needs and by providing high quality service. You will coach branch staff to achieve referral goals, production goals, to meet branch profit plan, and to support a positive team atmosphere. You will work with key representatives from all areas of the company to send and accept referrals and cross sell products and services; refers clients to sales personnel in other business lines. Accepts and processes retail and small business loan applications. You will also ensure compliance at all times for audit, compliance and security issues, communicate and support the mission of the company and perform other duties as assigned.

If selected and hired for the position, continued employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of the required Training and Assessment.

Areas of focus:
  • Oversee daily operations of the retail branch office
  • Coordinate with Branch Manager and others to achieve growth objectives
  • Have complete understanding of all products sold in the retail branch and in other business lines
  • Coordinate and conduct weekly branch meetings
  • Supervise and coach assigned branch staff
  • Ensure service quality meets required standards
  • Represent the company in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years retail sales banking experience, previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to lead, coach and motive others
  • Possess intermediate computer skills using standard Windows-based software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all types of people
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Have strong problem solving skills, for both technical and administrative problems
