Assistant Produce Managers are responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the department. This includes:
- Providing friendly and attentive customer service
- Maintaining proper shelf/display conditions through cleaning, straightening, and rotating products
- Ensuring proper handling and storing of product
- Fulfilling weekly product orders while adhering to store policies in order to maintain adequate supply levels
- Achieving financial goals such as sales, gross profit maximization, as well as minimization of shrink and supply expense
- Ensuring proper operation of and temperatures in cooler, prep area, and cases
- Completing all necessary paperwork relating to the department
- Selection, training, development and scheduling of produce associates
Successful Assistant Produce Manager candidates should meet the following qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Previous retail experience
- Ability to maintain a friendly and courteous manner and promote sales through excellent customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Night, weekend, and holiday availability
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic math functions
- Basic computer skills
