Quality responsibilities: We are GMP certified. Quality and food safety are the responsibility of all of our employees. The Assistant Production Manager is responsible to help ensure that all employees are following their departmental food safety and that the facility overall is adhering to SOPs

Summary: The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for assisting the Production Manager handle the daily operation of the production facility. Will promote good staff and customer relations through consistent implementation of company standards. Set an example to other employees through good work habits and professional mannerism.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Work with Production Management Team to oversee production
  • Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of facility
  • Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
  • Responsible for ensuring consistent high quality of food preparation
  • Monitor portion control and quantities of preparation to minimize waste.
  • Work with Production to ensure order correctness, and meet scheduled delivery times
  • Ensures any issues are communicated to the Production Management Team
  • Assist in costing analysis such as labor tracking and ingredient usage/waste.
  • Will be involved with ordering, receiving and inventory
  • Willingness to learn every department (baking, assembling and packaging) to be able to jump in where needed to ensure production goals are met.

Skills:

  • Ability to ensure a safe working environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
  • Provide direction to employees regarding operational and procedural issues.
  • Be involved with the training of new employees.
  • Education and/or Experience
  • Food Management Certification
  • Understanding of GMP (good manufacturing practices)
  • HACCP principles and methods
  • Self-discipline, initiative, leadership ability and outgoing.
  • Pleasant, polite manner and a neat and clean appearance.
  • Ability to motivate up to 65 employees to work as a team to ensure that food and service meet appropriate standards.
  • Must be able to handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to problems.
  • Must possess good communication skills for dealing with diverse staff.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while maintaining required standards of operation in daily restaurant activities.

Other:

Must possess the ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
