Job Summary
The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will assist the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach in designing and implementing programs for all varsity athletic programs; specifically responsible for the design, implementation and monitoring of safe and effective strength and conditioning programs to improve performance of the Men's & Women's varsity teams. The incumbent is responsible for oversight of East Campus Strength and Conditioning Center during assigned shift and during absence of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field from an accredited institution
- 1 or more years experience working as a coach, assistant coach, or intern in the field of strength and conditioning.
- NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification, NSCA Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach certification or CSCCa Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified certification.
Applicants must meet stated minimum education and experience requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field from an accredited institution
- Experience training athletes of all abilities in a variety of sports
- CSCCa – SCCC certification
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of strength training, speed, agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular conditioning
- Knowledge of NCAA regulations and guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a variety of student-athletes
- Ability to initiate, develop and maintain contacts appropriate to an effective strength and conditioning program
- Ability to convey a clear and concise message while communicating, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Ability to anticipate and solve problems.
