Boeing enterprise software engineering organization is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join the software engineering team for Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) supporting BR&T Integrated Vehicle Systems (IVS) and BR&T Materials and Manufacturing Technologies (MMT) statements of work. The position can be based out of either Charleston, South Carolina or Huntington Beach, California.
This exciting software engineer position requires demonstrated experience in a multi-discipline, collaborative engineering environment that supports the design, development, and implementation of software for existing and emerging BR&T programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains code and integrates software systems into a fully functional software system
Working and interfacing with a multi-disciplined integrated product team.
Assisting with the development, documentation and maintenance of architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Perform use case development for software requirements
Perform software architecture trade studies and modifications to meet new requirements
Perform unit and integration testing
Participate in peer code reviews
This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other technical degree
2+ years of experience designing and developing software using C/C++; C#, Python or Java
1+ years of experience with agile methodologies
1+ years of experience with software development
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience with Cloud Computing technologies
Experience with continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) practices
Experience with Docker container technology and Kubernetes Container Service (KCS)
Experience with Test-driven development (TDD)
Experience using DevOps tool chain and team collaboration tools including GitLab, JIRA, Jenkins and Artifactory etc.
Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
