Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Forecasts goals and objectives for the body shop and meet or exceed them
- Ensures harmony and teamwork with all other departments
- Promotes a positive attitude and create a cohesive team to take the business forward
- Prepares and administer an annual operating budget for the body shop
- Attends manager meetings as needed
- Understands, and keeps abreast of and comply with federal, state and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA right-to-know, etc.
- Hires, trains, motivates, counsel, and monitor the performance of all body shop staff
- Direct and schedule the activities of all body shop employees while providing expectations and feedback
- Ensures accurate estimating, costing and invoicing in the department
- Provides technical assistance as needed
- Ensures premises and equipment and other assets are controlled and used effectively
- Conducts meetings with body shop employees to discuss/communicate activities and issues
- Establishes and maintain good working relationships with several insurance adjusters
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with customers to encourage repeat and referral business
- Completes quality checks on all completed on jobs
- Handles all customer complaints, in accordance with the Frederick values
- Keeps abreast of new equipment and tools available and recommend purchases
- Ensures that the work areas and customer waiting area are kept clean
- Assists Fixed Operations Director as needed (other duties may be assigned)
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 5 years of relevant work experience working in a collision center environment, dealerships experience a plus
- 1 or more years as a manager of a Collision Center (Body Shop) required
- 2 to 3 years of experience as an estimator preferred
- PA Estimator License Required
- Must be able to provide references upon request
- Ability to read and comprehend job-related instructions and information whether electronic or paper-based
- Deals creatively and logically with any problems that arise, while expressing empathy for customers and their problems
- Experience in the use of Ignite & Proficient in the use of CCC One Estimating Software
- High School diploma or equivalent
