AWS System Administrator (On Site) Job at Sapient Logic
Sapient Logic has a position opening for a Cloud System Administrator to support the CANES program at Navy Information Warfare Command (NIWC) Pacific. At Sapient Logic, we welcome individuals who are open minded, think “outside of the box”, and are eager for new challenges.
Position Summary:
We are looking for a Cloud System Administrator to join our growing engineering team to support the configuration, automation, and deployment of Windows and Linux enterprise environment in AWS. This position entails working with Application Providers and assisting in the Integration, Testing, and Evaluation of their applications in an AWS Gov Cloud environment.
Basic Functions:
- Capable of creating AWS Linux and Windows based instances
- Familiar with creating VPCs, Security Controls, Instances, etc in AWS
- Experienced in writing Lambda scripts
- Experienced in administering Linux and Windows based servers
- Able to leverage Terraform to build and configure AWS instances
- Diagnosis skills of technical issues.
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes quickly.
- High level problem-solving and communication skills.
- Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
- Escalate service or project issues that cannot be completed within agreed service levels.
- Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities.
- Understand processes by completing assigned training materials and blueprints.
- Review IT publications and online materials to remain up-to-date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry.
- Generate status reports
Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of IT experience; OR and Associates degree and 7 years of IT experience; OR a High School Diploma/GED and 9 years of IT experience is required
- Experience with Javascript and/or Python is a plus
- Experience with Ansible is a plus
- Experience with Docker, Openshift, and/or Kubernetes is a plus
- Operating Systems: Linux, Windows 10, Windows Server 2016 or greater
- Certification: Linux+, or MCSA, Security+
- Virtualization: VMWare
- Software: Git/Bit Bucket, Jenkins, Jira
- Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudFormation
- AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate, or AWS Certified Developer - Associate are a plus
- Current and active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship is required
