Job Summary

*Short-Term Household Manager Position: 2-3 Months*

• Pittsburgh, PA | Fox Chapel
• Start Date: September 5th, 2023
• Hours: M-F, 9 am - 6 pm
• Hourly Rate: $25-$30/hr
• Kids: 7, 5, 2, and baby due in September

Responsibilities and Duties

• WHO/WHAT: Do you think there’s a right way and a lazy way to fold laundry? With a baby due in September, this full house of five is about to get fuller. Alongside others helping to run this busy home, your role will be to serve as a protective shell around Mom. You’ll unburden her of chores; over the first month, this will look differently, but it will always require a proactive, detail-oriented approach. Mom and Dad have established a solid rhythm raising their beautiful three daughters, ages seven, five, and two. In the weeks leading to the baby’s arrival, you’ll upkeep the daily tasks while helping to get things organized. Then, once the baby gets here, Mom will hang the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the bedroom door, stay off her feet, and rest. During these seven-to-ten days, you’ll handle everything household duty related, including cooking quality meals, and packing lunches. (PSST: you’ll score massive bonus points if you’re familiar with Middle Eastern cuisine.) Following this recovery period, Mom will ease back into cooking, with you as her meal-prepping sous-chef. Using your own vehicle, you’ll run errands and grocery shop. There are no pets, no allergies, but the family doesn’t eat pork. You’ll typically work Monday-Friday, 9 am-6 pm, doing just about everything that’s needed to help manage the home. This includes dishes, cleaning up messes, putting toys away (and not just in a pile!), laundry, washing bottles, vacuuming, and sweeping. Childcare will primarily be handled by Mom and another temporary nanny, and deep cleaning gets done by a weekly housekeeper. The Ideal Household Manager Would Be...INDEPENDENT! You’ll try to solve the puzzle on your own and explore every resource before disturbing Mom during her recovery. You operate using common sense, kindness, and patience. You’re not a corner-cutter or buck-passer because you know great execution is won and lost in the details. You’re trustworthy, flexible, punctual, and RELIABLE. Mom’s giving birth in September, and she and the family will count on you; any professional who’s assisted a new mother through this phase before will know there’s no do-over for this short, critical time. Lastly, if you have doula experience, you just teleported to the front of the pack!

Requirements and Benefits
