QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum possession of a BCBA and experience in the area of developmental disabilities or of the dually diagnosed. Educational requirements may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral intervention programming.
  • Valid drivers license and the ability to be insured by our insurance company throughout employment. Individuals will be required to travel in the course of their daily work. Must maintain valid registration and insurance on personal vehicle.
  • Proficient in software programs (word processing, spreadsheet and database) and utilization of all relevant office equipment.
  • The ability to prioritize projects is a must and have excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain certifications in CPR, First Aid, PMT and DDS State Medication Administration.
  • The ability to lift to 75 pounds, transfer and physically intervene with individuals as required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Visit Designated residential programs on a regular basis to conduct independent, impartial, objective observations of interactions between staff and supported individuals; provide feedback to the Residential Services Director, Associate Executive Director, and Executive Director when needed.
  • Reviews behavior support plans at minimum annually or as needed and develop new behavior support plans when necessary.
  • Conduct weekly checks/reviews of behavioral data maintained in Therap; report any suspected potential concerns, discrepancies, or inaccuracies to the appropriate program coordinator.
  • Attend designated staff meetings to compile information regarding any clinical/behavioral concerns identified or shared regarding the individuals; share that feedback with the Residential Services Director, Associate Executive Director, and Executive Director when needed.
  • Ensure that environments in all residences are maintained in a clean, safe, person-centered manner.
  • Assist with the review of monthly and quarterly reviews of all supported individuals, with an eye towards ensuring accuracy and timeliness of data and reports; share observations/concerns with the Residential Services Director, Associate Executive Director, and Executive Director when needed.
  • Complete Residential Assessment Reports (in-process) and return completed assessments to the Manager for further discussion and review.
  • Ensure that the procedures in the individual' Behavior Support Plans are being implemented consistently and with fidelity when providing direct on-site observation; report any issues/discrepancies to the Behavior Specialist.
  • Provide assistance/technical support to Residential Managers and/or Program Coordinators regarding generation of necessary paperwork and documentation for individuals scheduled for URR, PRC and/or HRC.
  • Assures that all programs written by staff or ancillary personnel meet ASI policy and procedures as well as DDS regulations, that such programs are appropriate and consistently implemented and initial and follow-up in-services are provided.
  • Has thorough working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures.
  • Reports and immediately responds to any violation of individuals' rights directly to the Executive Director.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Executive Director and/or Executive Director.

EVALUATIONS:

The Behaviorist is evaluated by the Associate Executive Director, three (3) months and six (6) months from date in position and annually thereafter.
