CHILDREN'S ADVOCACY CENTER FOR NORTH TEXAS Bartonville, TX

Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas mission: We empower child abuse victims, their families, and our community through education, healing, and justice.This full-time position provides client outreach and scheduling of therapeutic services with families that are involved in investigations of severe child abuse.

The Children’s Advocacy Center for North Texas is an agency that works with a multi-disciplinary team, including law enforcement and the Department of Family and Protective Services, to facilitate the investigation of severe child abuse cases and provide support services to the alleged victims and their non-offending family members.

The Advocacy Center provides services to Denton, Wise, and Jack counties. This position will have a designated office location, but travel between all offices will be required.

The Clinical Intake Specialist responsibilities include:

  • Triage/assess all incoming clinical cases and assign the appropriate priority to each case
  • Provide close coordination with Clinical Team, Family Advocates, Forensic Interviewers, DFPS and Law enforcement
  • Provide psychoeducation to families participating in Clinical Services
  • Maintain proper documentation in CAC electronic health record/client files.
  • Assign clients to appropriate therapist or provide outside referrals
  • Maintain master client list and offsite referral list
  • Participatein trainings and continuing education
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work out of Denton and Lewisville and Bridgeport offices.
  • Work as a member of an interagency multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in weekly case review meetings.
  • Maintain all ethical guidelines.
  • Assist with general Center operations as needed
  • Participate in community and special events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • At least6 months ofcommunity agency administration or clinical exposure
  • Training (licenses and certifications): Must be willing tobetrainedand receiveongoing training
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
  • Experience working with law enforcement, CPS, DA’s Office a plus
  • Knowledge of community mental health
  • Knowledge of social service agencies and support services in the area
  • Knowledge of Trauma treatment modalities
  • Knowledge of law enforcement, CPS, District Attorney a plus
  • Knowledge of Children’s Advocacy Centers, CPS/law enforcement/DA organizations.
