*This position is for opening WEEKENDS + closing shifts week day, 5-6 days a week*

Opening shifts: 9:15am-4:30pm

Closing Shifts: 3:30pm-9:30pm/10:30pm depending on day of the week

One position available- est 30 hours weekly

Sunday-Wednesday the cafe closes at 9pm

Thursday-Saturday the cafe closes at 10pm

Must be over 18 years old

What is bubble tea? Bubble tea is a tea-based drink that originated in Taiwan in the early 1980s. It most commonly consists of tea accompanied by chewy tapioca balls, but it can be made with other toppings as well.

We are looking for a cafe manager/Boba Barista to prepare and serve hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea.

Boba Barista responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have customer service skills and knowledge of how brewing equipment operates. You should be able to work various shifts. Note: this position’s compensation includes salary PLUS tips. Ultimately, you’ll ensure an excellent drinking experience for our guests.

Keeping the dinning room and restroom tidy and clean is required.

Hours of business is 11am-10pm weekday. Opening employee will need to arrive at 10am. Reliable transportation is required. 40 hour work weeks available. Set schedules Monday-Friday

Responsibilities

As an opener, you must be able to count register drawer correctly without guidance and work well under a pressure.

  • Greet customers as they enter. MUST BE FRIENDLY!
  • Give customers drink menus and answer their questions regarding ingredients
  • Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
  • Prepare beverages following recipes
  • Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries and muffins
  • Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
  • Keep the bar area clean
  • Maintain stock
  • Check if brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
  • Comply with health and safety regulations
  • Communicate customer feedback to managers and recommend new menu items

Skills

  • Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
  • Hands-on experience with brewing equipment
  • Knowledge of sanitation regulations
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
