The Capital Area Division (CAD) of Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) is seeking an energetic Business and Operations Management Program Analyst to support program oversight of and advocacy for leading-edge Science & Technology for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)).

This position requires a candidate with experience providing research, technical, and analytical support; maintaining configuration and quality control of assignments; developing and coordinating responses and reports to congressional inquiries; and coordinating and reviewing correspondence and presentation materials.

The employee will perform tasks such as:

  • Coordinate Front Office workflow
  • Develop materials for review meetings and briefings
  • Coordinate and review official correspondence and presentation materials
  • Develop and review communications points and messaging
  • Review program plans
  • Provide recommendations for improvement of business processes
  • Assist in tracking congressional marks
  • Assist in the conduct of leadership committee meetings and other Executive Secretary actions

The position is primarily on-site (3 - 5 days/week) at the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of recent and relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a technical field or business. Degree requirement waived in lieu of ten (10) years recent and relevant work experience working in DoD or industry financial activities.
  • TS clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Coordinating workflow in an office environment
  • Proficient communication skills (verbal/written)
  • Excellent Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
  • Experience developing and executing new projects

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA), a graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or other related field.
  • Experience with the Correspondence and Task Management System (CATMS) is highly desired
  • Experience with DoD formatting and writing standards
