About the Opportunity
The HRIT Analyst will work collaboratively with HR functional areas and our customers in the colleges/divisions, along with HR Analysts to research and resolve issues within the applications, provide ongoing application configuration and maintenance. A successful candidate will have experience researching and identifying solutions on business application system-related problems, providing technical guidance and support to end users. Additional responsibilities include test and implement configuration changes and upgrades, support interfaces, continuous automation efforts, proactively identify and resolve issues associated with data, ensures data and systems are secure, document HRIT processes/policies/workflow, provide systems training and excellent customer service. The candidate enjoys supporting systems, analyzing data, working with customers and likes to solve problems. Must be willing to build relationships with the community and IT as well as be able to manage various conflicting deadlines in an environment in which they will be asked to balance the demands of multiple priorities.
To ensure that essential services are provided to the university community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.
This position is eligible for Alternative Work Arrangements including remote and/hybrid work arrangements
Responsibilities:
HRIT System Support
- Provides technical guidance, support and solutions for end users of our Workday HR System
- Support all customers (faculty, staff, applicants, HRM) by troubleshooting and resolving any system issues and problems – respond to customers quickly and accurately.
- Collaborates with Business Systems and Data Analysts to resolve complex system issues
- Track, triage and manage all tickets using ServiceNow
- Execute tasks & activities to support cyclical system administration including audits such as Workers Comp, reporting and system user access review
- Continually evaluate ways to use technology to automate manual HRM processes and improve HRM functionality
- Assist in the evaluation, functional review and specification and implementation of new features/functionality within the HRIT systems
- Assist in system, including specification creation, testing and training
- Identify and document technically-based process improvements that leverage technology and reduce manual efforts
- Assist in the training and documentation to support user needs
Reporting
- Work with Data Analysts to provide ad-hoc report requests using Workday reporting
- Serve as resource to HRM staff to define, implement and schedule reports
- Assist in the training and documentation to support user needs
- Review existing reports to leverage report library and communicate report output to all users
- Assist in the development and deployment of ad hoc and standard report capabilities to users
Data Integrity & Security
- Participates in efforts to manage data audits and reconciles HR data integration issues, including coordination with Office of Institutional Research and Decision Support, to enhance overall data integrity levels
- Creates and acts upon audit queries to ensure the integrity of data in all HR Systems
- Works with HRM and HR Analysts in the colleges and divisions to help proactively identify and resolve issues associated with data
- Serves as a contact with IT to resolve issues, the use of consistent data definitions and to research and offer solutions on all HRM system related problems
- Assists in the review and/or testing of customizations, interfaces, and reports to ensure accuracy
- Documents all data audits, definitions and data recommendations
- Assists in maintaining database tables and making appropriate changes and updates
- Ensures appropriateness and maintains application security access. Manages security audits
Training/Communications
- Develop/Update training materials and train users on Workday, Everfi, ServiceNow
- Develop and maintain standard report and documentation library
- Develop course content and train users as requested
- Assist in the creation and delivery of communications to key users, HRM, faculty and staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems/Computer Science, General Business, Psychology, Management, Philosophy, Marketing required.
- 3-5 years of related experience (systems and/or HR systems), 2 plus years of experience/knowledge of HRMS systems and Workday experience preferred
- Familiarity with Human Resources and Payroll functional processes preferred
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills required
- Must have proven functional and technical skills
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills to solve technical or process-related problems
- Must have excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical employees and management.
- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service i.e. customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Sound judgment, excellent organization skills and ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task in a high-volume environment
- Excellent planning, time management and decision-making skills
- Experience working with test plans and test cases
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and customer service skills for effective communication with all employee levels
- Responds to requests with a service mindset
- Hands on style with strong problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; experience communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ensure the confidentiality of all HR data
- Demonstrate professional presence and positive energy to all initiatives
- Provides excellent customer service
- Prior experience in higher education is a plus
- Familiarity with the following systems preferred: Workday or similar HRMS
