Butcher Apprentice Job at Maine Meat
Butcher apprentices are responsible for: breaking down whole chickens, breaking primal cuts of pork (moving up to beef and lamb once mastered), making sausage, deli meat production, and assisting the head butcher in inventory management and the fabrication of case-ready retail cuts that meet our high standards. Must be able to lift 50+lbs and be on your feet for 8 hours per day.
Attention to detail, willingness to learn, and a sense of urgency are required.
Ideal candidate: Previous kitchen experience and basic knife skills required. We are willing to train the right candidate -- you bring your "A" game and a positive attitude.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
