Job Title: Cage Cashier Dept: Cage

Reports to: Cage Manager Pay Range $16.00/hr. Av Hrs / Wk: Full- time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary of Functions

Responsible for assisting guests with various money-related transactions in the cage operation

Accountability

Cage Cashier report directly to the Cage Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safeguard Elwha River Casino assets
  • Balance assigned bank
  • Redeem EGD tickets into currency for guests
  • Redeem cash for cash, coins for cash and make change
  • Process Check Cashing and Credit Card Cash Advances following identification guidelines
  • Count in/out revenue banks
  • Maintain appearance standards as outlined in ERC policies
  • Provide information and explain Players Club benefits, property amenities and marketing programs to our guests
  • Provide courteous service to our guests and be cordial to all Team Members
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Maintain a good attendance record
  • Prepare daily deposits
  • Verify and take responsibility for cash vault
  • Verify soft count drop
  • Perform Soft Count duties as needed
  • Other duties as directed by Finance Management/General Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no supervisory authority.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • A minimum one (1) year cash handling experience
  • Basic computer experience required (Microsoft Excel, Word)
  • Must possess reasonable ability to communicate in English.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Required to receive and maintain a valid gaming license from the Tribal Gaming Commission.
  • Must be willing and able to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.\

Certificates, Licenses, Regulations

  • Class A Gaming license issued by the Lower Elwha Gaming Commission
  • Current driver’s license and reliable transportation to/from work

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here represent those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • This position requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours)
  • Constantly requires repetitive movement of the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Must be able to handle mental and physical stress
  • Occasionally requires lifting/moving up to 25 pounds
  • Constantly requires the ability to give and receive detailed information through verbal communication
  • Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a higher positions or moving objects horizontally
  • Occasionally requires stooping which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles, infrequently requires crouching
  • Constantly requires ability to work in a smoke-filled environment

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to tobacco smoke, moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The worker is frequently subject to inside environment conditions, which provide protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes, and is occasionally subject to outside environmental conditions and to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Travel Requirements

Travel is infrequently required, with the exception of training. Travel time is almost always less than one week.
