The Opportunity | Quality Control Inspector & Calibration Tech
The Quality Control Inspector conducts inspection and testing of materials, parts, and products to ensure adherence to established standards of strength, quality, cleanliness, and endurance. They execute the non-destructive testing / non-destructive examination (NDT/NDE) program to include VT, UT, MT, and PT. Additionally, they will conduct material receipt inspections and product pre-shipping/packaging inspections to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
You must be able to provide Quality Control Inspection support for receiving, in-process, first article machined product while partnering with manufacturing and quality teams and leaders. You will ensure that quality in being maintained in all factors involved in production.
Location: Summerville, SC
Your Challenge:
  • Inspect, audit, measure, and functionally test products or materials, parts, subassemblies, and packaging for damage, defects, or shortages, using specification sheets, gauges, and standards charts.
  • Perform first article inspection (FAI) of newly designed, revised products, or first off the machine and Inspection of incoming products to ensure proper paperwork is received and parts conform to specifications, engineering and purchase order.
  • Perform in-process inspection of parts being manufactured
  • Able to interpret and read engineering drawings, company and customer specifications to ensure accurate part manufacturing.
  • Perform calibration on inspection test equipment used to support product acceptance such as variable or attribute gaging, measuring tools, pressure gages, and shop floor standards.
  • Perform product and process audits for in process conformance to drawings/specification on large and small machined products, weldments, assemblies, and individual manufactured components.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Your Expertise:
  • 4+ years of related experience in a mechanical inspector role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical/Trade School preferred.
  • Ability to set-up and program CMM's.
  • Basic and intermediate math skills (geometry and trigonometry); Software and Computer literate
  • Understanding of GD&T
  • Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain and maintain DOD security clearance.
