Car Dealer Specialist - Mid-Atlantic
The territory includes the following states: Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.
Primary Purpose of the Position
The Car Dealer Specialist is a dedicated resource and primary interface between the Customer and the Car Dealership.
Their main objectives include executing business strategy for both Sell In and Sell Out while ensuring profitable growth in margin and share of account within the Car Dealer channel.
This role is also responsible for the execution of the Car Dealer Channel Business Plan which includes updating and monitoring assortment, new product execution, pricing and programs.
The role will accomplish this by facilitating training and development of Dealership Drive Lane associates as well as hold responsibility for the day to day relationship with various business owners.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the development & execution of category business planning with the customer, including the selling of assortment, new product execution, pricing, in-store merchandising & promote plans in the achievement of scorecard targets. Work closely with Vehicle Manufactures’ Field Managers to integrate their initiatives into their own Business Plan. Interact with local Car Dealer distributors (ADAMs) for Product Screen, Sell-in/Sell-out activities.
- Utilize the resources of the Business Insight Analyst, Category & Best Practices Team to develop an approach to business planning that brings additional value to each customer for their business partnership.
- Develop strategic solutions to assort key lines & drive profitable growth with assigned customers. Key drivers are identifying opportunities, strategic pricing, promotion & supply.
- Develop relationships with customer teams. Work with internal teams (ex. Supply Chain, Finance, Categories, etc.) with your Team Lead to meet customer service goals.
- Miscellaneous reporting and business feedback to Akron management on business and needs of our team. Plus, some additional learning/development duties to diversify and cross train associate.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution
Experience
- Minimum 1 year experience in customer development / support / sales
- Exposure to multiple channels and facets of the organization a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Analytical skills to gather & assess information & then draw appropriate conclusions. Problems are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation & resolved using knowledge, skills general business principles & practices.
- Advanced oral & written communication skills are necessary to present programs, create & submit written reports, write emails & tailor communications to effectively reach any audience.
- Intermediate computer skills required to effectively use MS Office 365 and in-house programs such as CRM, TPS, SAP and EDW
