Day (United States of America) The Cardiovascular (CV) Technician II role is now eligible for a $10,000 sign on bonus. Important Details: Bonuses are paid out in 3 payments: $3,333.33 at 30 days of hire, and $3,333.33 at 6 months of hire, and $3333.34 at 1-Year of hire. To be eligible, you must be a non-BILH employee or a previous eligible employee who returns to BILH after 1 year. Employee must be in good standing to receive the bonus at the time of payment. All bonuses are subject to applicable taxes. If you leave Lahey Health & Medical Center before your first anniversary you will pay back the sign-on bonus to Lahey Health & Medical Center. Under the supervision of the Physician and the Clinical Manager, the Cardiovascular (CV) Technician II performs various professional and administrative duties related diagnostic cardiac testing. Ensures that testing procedures are performed according to hospital and department policy and standards. Performs testing while monitoring patient vitals and symptoms. Seeks further assistance/supervision when appropriate.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Performs cardiovascular test from Provider order via EMR and reports test information with appropriate EMR documentation; clarifies MD orders and goals of Rx .
- Performs 12 Lead ECG, trans-telephonic monitor checks, rhythm strips, Holter/Event recorders, exercise/stress tolerance tests including, pharmacological, thallium, pulmonary stress testing procedures.
- Identifies abnormal rhythms and ensures notification to physician as appropriately needed.
- Troubleshoots methods of EKG, (i.e., lead wires, voltage sensitivity, paper speed, lead placement and artifact tracings).
- Checks cardiovascular monitoring equipment to ensure that it’s working correctly.
- Responsible for all related patient data, i.e., computer database, patients' charts, billing procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of testing rooms; ensures that it is stocked with supplies
- Performs ECG, Holter, Event and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring.
- Performs Exercise stress testing procedures to include: Routine ETT, Exercise Echo, Nuclear ETT with and without pharmacological component, PET pharmacological stress
- Serves as support/back up for the following non-invasive diagnostic tests: EKG, signal average EKG, Holter/event monitor application, exercise tolerance testing (standard, stress echo, pharmacological, thallium and pulmonary testing).
- Respond to STAT ECG calls
- General knowledge of department’s utilized EMR,
- Performs tasks in EPIC related to schedule, orders and test completion to ensure proper billing and referral informaton is gathered for completeness and accuracy.
- Medical Records: Assures orders are valid and records proper documentation of all testing.
- Proficient in ECG recognition and manual blood pressure measurements.
- Responsible for maintaining testing rooms, linen, and stocked equipment.
- Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors preferred and/or Vocational or technical school training program in the Cardiovascular Technology.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Certification in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Technology and/or Exercise Testing Procedure.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of cardiovascular physiology/anatomy and strong ECG interpretations skills. Demonstrates effective and compassionate communicative demeanor. Able to remain calm and work well under stress. Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and follow up.
Experience: Preferred two years of work experience in the exercise testing setting.
