St. Andrew’s Community Resource Center is seeking a Case Manager to assist families and individuals navigating through life’s difficult circumstances, including homelessness and hunger. Primary Duties:

• Emergency Shelter Program Assessment - Assess guest's eligibility for shelter by conducting interviews and reviewing background checks
• Stable housing goal planning - Develop, coordinate, implement and monitor goal plans for families in the emergency shelter program.
• Record keeping - Collect and file necessary documentation including a signed release and form of identification; Document and enter case notes into database.
• Resource Referrals - Refer guests to community resources including counselors, food programs and child care.
• Guest Services - Welcome Community Resource Center guests, assess their needs, distribute emergency food kits.
• Occasionally attend community meetings, be present at community meal, assist with church duties

Minimum Requirements:

• Associates Degree in human services or a related field
• 2 years of experience in a similar or closely related role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Comfortable working in a Christian environment
• Working knowledge of the homeless population and the causes and impacts of living in poverty
• Skill in listening and conveying understanding of a guest's problem or issue to find resolution; Ability to express empathy for others
• Skill and experience working with diverse economic and cultural populations
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented, collaborative environment
• Excellent organizational and time management skills

Schedule:

The work schedule is typically Monday through Thursday. Evening and weekend work is sometimes required. Approximately 32-34 hours per week. Availability to work at least one Thursday evening per month (Community Meal).

As part of the larger organization of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, this position will be required to participate in St. Andrew's Sunday Worship hospitality rotation as well as provide hospitality assistance for special holiday services which will include working one short (2-3 hours) hospitality desk shift on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and/or Easter Sunday based on seniority, as well as any other "all hands on deck" events as assigned. All other major holidays are off and paid!
