Job Summary

Cashier / Floor Clerk

Minimum Age 16+

MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS

· Greet all customers as you see them as well as when they enter the check stand

· Provide top class customer service to all customers throughout all transactions

· Scan all items across scanner in a timely fashion

· Enter transactions in the cash register and provide customers with the total bill

· Process cash, credit card and check payments accurately. Sort and accurately count currency

· Bag purchased items correctly to avoid breakage and spills

· Place customers’ bags in the cart

· Circle the savings and promptly issue receipts and change while announcing the savings to the customer

· Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions

· Thank every customer

· Respond to customers’ complaints and take necessary actions to resolve their issues

· Call manager to process exchanges, refunds, and voids

· Issue and redeem gift cards

· Assist in stocking shelves, rotating merchandise, facing and store recovery

· Maintain knowledge of store Ads and promotions

· Always keep the work area tidy and clean

· Occasionally lift items weighing 15-30 pounds

· Perform some janitorial duties throughout your shift

· Request information or assistance using paging systems

· Collect carts and hand baskets and have them available for customers

· Avoid long waits in the register lanes by constantly monitoring number of customers in line and call for back up if needed

· Perform additional duties as assigned daily depending on business needs.
