Newly opened Doubletree by Hilton Monroe Cranbury is seeking an experienced Director of Catering for our 14,000 Square Feet of brand new catering-event space.

Our goals are wedding, association and social events for our two ballrooms. Our five meeting rooms are perfect for business meetings and association break-outs.

  • Solicit banquet and catering sales business, and receive and answer all inquiries relating to the catering department.
  • Direct the activities of the banquet-catering department in an effort to obtain maximum profit from available business booked.
  • Negotiate event contracts, including menu suggestions, bar set up, room arrangements, and share negotiated details with other departments within the hotel. Direct the Banquet Manager to ensure proper set-ups and staffing per event. Review BEO process and details with all departments as assigned to the Sales Coordinator.
  • Advanced knowledge of sales skills, revenue management, training, and motivation of peers. Strong leadership skills to ensure proper function of all team members.
  • Diverse knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Extensive communication skills to communicate with a diverse clientele group.
  • Prepare and maintain reports of sales recaps, organization contacts, catering function book and catering file system.
  • Maintain budgeted sales quotas, and create new ideas to increase catering revenue where required. Develop overall sales action plan for the catering/sales effort for all existing markets and prospect potential markets. Monitor specific action plans for each segment and ensure achieved booking goals each month.
  • Act in concert with the Director of Sales,hotel management team and property General Manager.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in Catering Sales role, 3 years min, demonstrating success and ability to sell and service Catering events. Hotel catering sales experience required. Hilton experience a plus.
  • Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • High work ethic and self-initiative
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Suite, Delphi.fdc, Salesforce and other Sales systems i.e. Hilton Meeting Broker required or must complete on the job training in these required systems
  • May be required to work during a nights event, weekend event, and special holiday event based on business requirements
