What is an EWP Assistant Winemaker / Cellar Master?
An Assistant Winemaker / Cellar Master in our small, urban winery, will be expected to wear many hats in this key role. From managing inventory to facility cleanliness, meeting bottling demands to working closely with our head winemaker in handcrafting our wines, this position will play a key role in production. In addition, the Cellar Master will support the winery in a variety of other tasks including but not limited to: sales, tastings and events, supervising cellar hand, supervising the day to day operations of the production facility, and other items as needed. Experience as a Cellar Master is not required, but passion for wine, willingness to learn, working knowledge of tools and machinery, and competency in driving a truck with trailer will be absolute necessities.

- Detail-oriented

- Able to operate a forklift
- Capable of repetitive lifting of 50 lbs boxes
- Able to drive pickup truck while pulling a trailer
- Mechanically-inclined
- Willing to get dirty
- Must have reliable transportation
- Good record keeping skills
- Willing to tolerate both cold and hot environments
Assistant Winemaker / Cellar Master Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and cleaning production facility
- Maintenance and cleaning of winery equipment
- Workflow planning
- Testing wine
- Filtering wine
- Bottling wine
- Labeling wine bottles
- Inventory control
- Deliveries
- Tank transfers
- General cleaning (including mopping, sweeping, etc)
- Participating in wine tastings
- Tours of the facility
- Driver for Wine Wagon events
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
