We are seeking an experienced Full-time Charge Nurse to assist our ASC Center Director and support our team of highly trained, caring professionals at our ASC located at 1693 Lee Road, Winter Park, FL.

  • Schedule: Monday – Friday (no weekends, holidays, or on-call)
  • Hours: Dayshift, flexible hours
  • Minimum of 2 years of Management experience, preferably in an ambulatory setting required.
  • Pre-op/PACU and OR experience required.
  • Spine/Pain Management/Neuro experience strongly preferred.

IN THIS POSITION YOU WILL:

  • Support NSPC's mission, vision, and values.
  • Provide direct patient care in all perioperative areas as needed: Pre-op/PACU/OR
  • Assist in the flow of the unit by assisting with OR turnover and instrument sterile processing to support the surgical team as needed.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory of unit and surgical supplies.
  • Assist Center Director with AAAHC, AHCA, and CMS survey prep as needed.
  • Assist the Center Director with the staff scheduling and staff education.
  • Assist the Center Director with maintenance of life safety records and scheduling life safety maintenance.
  • Assist with ASC schedule consolidation and optimizing surgical and procedural block time.
  • Promote and support a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Lead and model behaviors by example, effectively, setting a positive and motivating energy for the team.
  • Comply with federal and state and local regulatory standards.
  • Supervise the use, maintenance and availability of equipment, supplies, and services as established by policy.
  • Ensure staff compliance with corporate and division policies and procedures.
  • Foster the growth and development of others through effective orientation and continuing education of staff.
  • Keep abreast of current therapeutic modalities and evidence based best practices within the nursing profession and communicate effectively to ensure staff has the information, tools and resources needed to perform duties.
  • Collaborate effectively with the surrounding NSPC offices to promote an excellent patient experience.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of employees and collaborative relations i.e., staff, Management and Operations, Physicians, Anesthesia providers, vendors, patients, and their families.
  • Effectively manage resources to minimize waste and maximize financial performance.
  • Other duties as needed to support the Center Director and the ASC.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • This candidate must have a positive attitude and have solution-based thinking.
  • Must promote a healthy, supportive culture and emulate excellent customer service towards all people they encounter.
  • Minimum two (2) year associate degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • A valid FL Registered Nurse license, Compact State or Multi-State license (if applicable).
  • Previous ASC Charge Nurse or Management Level experience required, preferably in an ambulatory surgery center.
  • Background in perioperative nursing (OR, Pre-op, PACU) required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS (or able to obtain ACLS within 30 days of employment)
  • Knowledge of EMR and/or Electronic Practice Management systems and technologies, preferably Centricity and Modernizing Medicine.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and related software such as Microsoft Office is necessary, Windows and Excel proficiency required.
  • The capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment, while demonstrating resourcefulness and proactivity.
  • Excellent organizational/multi-tasking skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to always provide outstanding customer service by communicating effectively and professionally with a diverse population.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Completion of satisfactory background check inclusive of driving records, criminal records, employment references, education, social security, and OIG exclusions.
