Responsibilities Include:

The Idaho National Laboratory (INL) is seeking a Chemist or comparable discipline for the Radiochemistry and Nuclear Measurements Department within the Nonproliferation Division. This researcher will focus on nuclear forensics, novel separations and analysis from complex mixtures derived from environmental samples, fission mixtures and irradiated materials applied to nonproliferation research. Precision and extreme cleanliness are critical to success. The skillset needed is found in an education rooted in analytical chemistry, although may be a degree in many scientific fields.

The candidate is expected to be a strong asset to our interdisciplinary R&D team and work effectively both alone and as a team member. The candidate must be self-motivated but also take direction from other team members and peers.

The position entails conducting experiments with the goal of producing scientific manuscripts for journal publication, and presentation of research results at national and international conferences and meetings.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Analytical Chemistry preferred.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • Salary Grade 190 ($70,680 - $116,616)
