Beacon Behavioral Hospital is one of the largest and most established behavioral health programs in Louisiana. For over 20 years, Beacon has employed caring staff at locations across southeast Louisiana: Baton Rouge, Metairie, Slidell, Hammond, Houma, Bogalusa, Bunkie, Opelousas, and Lutcher. We currently provide inpatient programs and intensive outpatient programs (IOP) that provide therapy to those struggling with emotional disorders, substance abuse, and mental disorders.

POSITION SUMMARY: As the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) in a psychiatric hospital, the role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive high quality care and that the nursing staff is supported. The CNO oversees the nursing department, including developing policies and procedures, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. In a psychiatric hospital, the CNO plays a vital role in developing and implementing patient treatment plans and ensuring that staff is trained and equipped to deal with the unique challenges of working with psychiatric patients. Additionally, the CNO may work closely with other hospital leadership team members to ensure that all aspects of patient care are coordinated and of the highest quality. The CNO is also responsible for risk management for all clinical operations. The CNO will work closely with other leadership team members to identify potential risks and implement strategies to mitigate those risks as applicable to the organization.
The CNO will also serve as the Compliance Officer responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining a healthcare compliance program, policies, and procedures that promote a culture that fosters ethical behavior and provides the basis for ensuring adequate internal controls and compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. As Compliance Officer, responsible for the development, dissemination, and implementation of policies, standards, and related administrative policies in areas that may include, but are not limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA privacy, fraud and abuse laws, state and federal false claims acts, medical documentation, billing and coding, nursing and allied health licensure and certification, and all applicable laws and regulations related to the healthcare services provided by the organization.
