NOTICE OF PERSONNEL OPENING
POSITION:

Child Care Director

REPORTS TO:

Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Personnel and the Chief Financial Officer

ANTICIPATED START DATE:

August 2023

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Full time, 9.5 Month Position

QUALIFICATIONS:

● Must have BA/BS in Early Childhood Education OR BA/BS including at least 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.

● Must have a minimum of IL Director I and Level 5 ECE credentialing with at least 5 years of experience in early learning, with at least 3 of those in a supervisory role.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Maintain a working knowledge of the regulatory standards as outlined by Illinois
Department of Children and Family Services, Illinois State Board of Education, and any other regulatory agencies.

● Oversees the hiring/recommendation and scheduling of Dragon Daycare staff with appropriate documentation and administrative approval.

● Maintains a working knowledge of abilities and behavior that are developmentally appropriate for a child’s age.

● Works in direct correspondence with the Early Childhood Education teacher and coordinates the activities and curriculum for the children accordingly.

● Act as a liaison for communication of behavioral, developmental, medical, or physical concerns between teacher/staff and parents/guardians.

● Cooperates and professionally communicates with families and staff, as needed, to ensure children are receiving the proper educational environment for proper development.

● Ensures staff implement appropriate classroom management skills to minimize behavioral concerns.

● Ensures staff implement developmentally appropriate activities according to the age level, skill, and development of the group of children.

● Ensures the effective opening, closing, and scheduling of the program daily.

● Both supervises and participates in the classroom settings of the daycare.

● Coordinates the orientation, training, and support of daycare staff, and high school students working in the classroom.

● Leads the registration process for families each spring and the orientation process at the start of each school year.

● Participates in budget preparation and review of all financial reports relevant to the program.

● Maintains knowledge of needs and inventory, and communicates such to the Central

Office.

● Other duties that are assigned which are not inconsistent with skills, abilities, and qualifications.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

● Must be physically capable of movement required to adequately care for children and be able to lift fifty (50) pounds from floor to waist.

● Ability to move freely to various locations within the classroom and a variety of school settings. Frequent standing, walking, sitting, and bending.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
