Children’s Play Area Associate
The Children’s Play Area associate will be responsible for handling the arrival and departure of children to the play area by checking each child in and out, and ensuring proper procedures are followed to maintain safety and control of the check-in process. The Associate is also responsible for monitoring children in the play area. The associate will ensure that children entering the play area fall between 37” to 54” tall and that any children that enter the play area are fully potty trained and that no children in diapers enter the Children’s play area.
This position must be available for weekends (potential every other weekend) and flexibility during the week.
Essential Job Functions
- Greets parents and children immediately upon arrival. Creates a friendly, professional, and positive first impression.
- Responsible for handling the arrival and the departure of children to the play area by checking them in, collecting identification, and ensuring that both the children and the parent/guardian receive the correct bracelet prior to entering the play area and upon departure, confirming that children are returned to the correct parent/guardian leaving the play area.
- Monitor children in the play area.
- Keeps toys and play area clean and organized.
- Maintains the cleanliness and safety of the Children’s Play area to ensure the overall safety of the children entrusted to our care.
- Responds to any emergency involving children in the care of Oakes Farms Seed to Table.
- Maintains a safe and sanitary environment for working staff and children.
- Supports children’s age-appropriate emotional situations and addresses situations as needed if signs of problems are identified. Notifies parent/guardian and/or management if an issue or problem occurs.
- Communicates concise and appropriate information throughout assigned shift with parent/guardian, co-workers, and supervisor.
- Must be a team player with a passion for improvement.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Skills and Qualifications
- 1-year experience in child care or related experience preferred.
- Customer service experience is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR/AED certified or ability to become certified.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Must be able to work throughout the scheduled shift.
- The Candidate needs to speak English, Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours of length.
- Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting small children if needed.
