VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital is looking for full-time (40 hours per week) Client Service Representatives to join our team. VCA Alameda East Veterinary Hospital is a General Practice, Specialty and ER hybrid hospital that is open 24 hours a day.

We’re looking for a personable, highly professional individual who can multi-task in a high-pressure, fast-paced emergency veterinary hospital. This individual should be able to balance being efficient while being compassionate. They should use sound judgment and effective communication in emergency situations.

Our ideal candidate has the desire to provide extraordinary client-focused service. They care about helping and communicating with people, knowing that this will lead to better patient care. This individual should be able to effectively, clearly communicate with clients, doctors, technicians, and other hospital associates. The ideal Client Service Representative maintains a professional appearance by wearing a VCA branded polo shirt, slack bottoms, and closed-toed shoes.

About the position:

  • Full-time hours (40 hours)
  • $17.75 to $20 per hour
  • Holiday and weekend availability required

Current available schedule hours:

  • 6am-3pm
  • 7am-4pm
  • 8am-5pm
  • 11am-8pm
  • 4pm-1am*

*Must be available to train for at least 6 weeks during daytime hours.

Client Service Representative functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms, along with emergency check-in.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments for the General Practice.
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
  • Presenting and explaining fees, processing payments, handling cash, and balancing a register.
  • Answering questions in person and over the phone regarding General Practice, Specialty, and Emergency products and services.
  • Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
  • Have the ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team.
  • Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.
