Position Summary:

Clinical liaisons are highly competent nurses and therapists who understand the business side of health care. Working in local acute care hospitals, CLs educate patients and families on the goals of medical rehabilitation. They assess patients to determine individual care needs, review medical records and meet with hospital teams to coordinate safe and timely transfers to our hospitals. CLs build strong relationships that help to build business through an increase of referrals and admissions.

• Position Duties (not all inclusive)
  Improvement, and ability of patient to tolerate intensive rehab program.
• Communicates admission status to patient and family. Works with social workers and care managers.
  Follows up on issues. Obtains insurance authorizations and approvals; provides third party payors with information required for approval process.
• Reports on utilization review activities. Coordinates admissions with shift Charge Nurse; provides information to staff to ensure continuity of care. Helps monitor census and staffing needs.
• Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

• Through the State of Texas - Registered Nurse, Respiratory Therapist or other Clinical License with experience in business development and inpatient rehabilitation (required)
• Ability to read, write , and communicate effectively in English (required)
• Previous In-Patient Rehabilitation Clinical Liaison experience (preferred)
