POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Coordinator will provide direction and leadership to child case managers, school-based services staff, Wraparound Facilitator(s), and home/school-based therapists, in the Child and Family Services Department, focusing on developing skills of effective client engagement, service delivery, and clinical outcomes. The Clinical Coordinator will work closely with the department Director to manage and coordinate various partnerships and programs associated with the department including StudentWise, MRO and Home Based Services, Wraparound, DCS and Juvenile Probation contacts/referrals, special grant projects, and children state hospital referrals.

VITAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in facilitating weekly group supervision with Child and Family Services staff, focusing on effective client engagement, service delivery, documentation, and clinical outcomes.
  • Provide individual supervision as needed to improve clinical and case management skills.

  • Assist in recruiting/hiring for open positions within the department.

  • Promote staff utilization of evidence-based practices and provide ongoing instruction and coaching in how to do so effectively.

  • Be accessible to staff, assisting them in working with challenging clients and situations.

  • Assist in the completion of administrative tasks on behalf of the department when needed.

  • Model openness to creative, innovative and effective ways to work with our clients.

  • Facilitate training opportunities for staff when needed to ensure proper understanding of agency policies, documentation expectations, clinical skill building, and other areas that will assist staff with being successful in their roles.

  • Utilize best practices to develop clinical programs and expand clinical services for the clients served in the Child and Family Services Department.

  • Communicate well, be responsive, and engage positively with other clinical divisions in the organization and with our community partners.

  • Serve as agency Wraparound Supervisor and Child/Adolescent State Hospital Gatekeeper.

  • Act as organizational liaison to DCS, Juvenile Probation, schools, and other community partnerships as needed.
COMPETENCIES:

  • Signs and symptoms of psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents.

  • Signs and symptoms of substance use disorders in children and adolescents.

  • Knowledge and skills with family systems, family dynamics, and parenting issues.

  • Child and adolescent developmental tasks.

  • Behavioral management knowledge and skills

  • Psychotropic medications.

  • Case management principles.

  • Criteria for enrollment and awareness of regulations to assist staff in maintaining compliance with MRO, DCS, Wraparound, probation, KidTraks, and other program guidelines.

  • Time management principles.

  • Clinical documentation skills: formulation of treatment plan, narrative notes, transfers, discharges

  • CANS Superuser designation

  • Clinical and ethical standards of practice.

  • Training and orientation of new staff.

  • Typing, computer skills and proficiency using the electronic medical record.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the education and/or experience required.   • Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy or related field is required.

  • LSW, LMHCA, or LMFTA is required.

  • LCSW, LMHC or LMFT is preferred.

  • Addictions experience preferred.

  • At least 4 years of clinical experience with various populations including children and families.

  • At least 2 years of experience providing clinical supervision to staff is preferred.
