Job Title: Therapist (ASW)

Job Purpose: To provide mental health services to patients in a medical facility

Job Duties – The following duties a core description of the job, however, the duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide individual and family psychotherapy utilizing Evidenced-Based Practices
  • Establish positive, trusting rapport with patients
  • Create individualized treatment plans according to symptoms and behaviors
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of patient progress and implementation of goals
  • Able to incorporate patient choice into treatment model
  • Refer patients to outside specialists or agencies as needed
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality
  • Respond to crisis situations and intervene therapeutically as necessary; assess for safety of patient, assess for suicidality, homicidality, self-harm ideation, and mandated reporting as necessary
  • Complete intake assessments including biopsychosocial
  • Engage patient in treatment planning, implement treatment plan with patient, discharge planning, transition patient to community services
  • Able to clinically conceptualize patient’s behaviors based on presenting symptoms and strengths
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary team to ensure proper treatment is implemented
  • Maintain current acceptable standards of charting and documentation
  • Ensure all necessary Board of Behavioral Sciences regulations are adhered to
  • Provide consultation to staff within scope of social work
  • Facilitate social support groups
  • Be a part of Behavioral Health department within medical facility
  • Other duties as assigned

Educational/Credential Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, ACSW License (in CA) required, BLS/CPR certificate

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Ability to efficiently manage time and work under pressure, knowledge of Electronic Health Record programs, adherence to established legal and ethical codes of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, excellent communication skills, flexible, cultural competency, professionalism, organizational skills, bilingual - Spanish highly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
