Summary:


The Communications Technology Desktop Support Engineer (CTDSE) is responsible for ensuring technology enables and enhances the organization’s strategic objectives and facilitates all users in achieving their operational priorities. This will include supporting and developing systems and staff and maintaining and developing all internally hosted and virtualized IT infrastructures alongside the organization’s outsourced IT support partners. The CTDSE will be key in coordinating and providing IT support directly, and through an internal network of IT champions located across Sherman & Howard’s offices.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electronic communication systems, including but not limited to audio systems, video display systems, phone systems, and conferencing solutions.
  • Receive feedback, identify users’ needs and requirements and mobilize technology to meet their needs.
  • Provide training to all employees and contract personnel for the audio and video conferencing equipment and software.
  • Operate and test daily functionality of all AV and integrated conference rooms.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, updates and routine testing for all audio-visual components such as, projectors, microphones, speakers, video displays, etc.
  • Troubleshoot operational issues related to A/V systems, room signs, microphones, or phone systems.
  • Coordinate and assist with room/system readiness, including video call setup prior to meetings and events.
  • Assist with firm meetings/functions that require the use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, visual display, etc.)
  • Assists with the technical organization of ongoing and future internal business and social events, including those spearheaded by Business Development, Human Resources, or other legal departments.
  • Optimize stability, availability, reliability, and performance of all audio-visual services.
  • Zoom subject matter expert, assist with user needs, training, configurations, etc.
  • Support the firm’s phone system and peripheral devices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Strong understanding and knowledge of various tablets and audiovisual conferencing equipment.
  • Ability to analyze audiovisual and conferencing hardware/software problems and develop and implement innovative solutions.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage tight deadlines, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
  • Strong client service skills with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish a good rapport with attorneys and staff.
  • Ability to maintain detailed records and reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member, as well as individually, to meet project goals.

Qualifications:


  • Associates degree in a computer-related, technology field is preferred, but not required.
  • Intermediate to advanced telecommunications and IT experience in a technical support capacity is required.
  • Legal office experience is preferred, but not required.

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $65,000/year. Actual compensation offer to candidate may vary from posted information based on work experience, education, and/or skill level.
