Community Recreation Assistant Job at Saint Therese

Position Details:
- Full-time position and hours will be 8:30am to 5:00pm. Potential to work every 4th weekend and a holiday rotation

Location Information
We have four senior communities in New Hope, Brooklyn Park, Shoreview, and Woodbury that are rich with thoughtful amenities and support. Our compassionate services also reach seniors living in the broader Twin Cities area through home care, outpatient therapies and wellness programs.
Rooted in history, Saint Therese of New Hope is our largest community. This care center has 168 skilled nursing beds for long-term and transitional care. In addition, the Residence at Saint Therese of New Hope houses 225 independent apartments and suites for assisted living and memory care.
Responsibilities
Implement activity programs in all areas of the Residence including independent living, assisted living, catered living, Memory care suites.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Three to four years senior housing activities experience working with tenants with dementia preferred.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Class B Minnesota Driver’s License
- Skills in crafts, music, art, physical fitness
- Knowledge of small group dynamics
- Skills in flower arranging, seasonal decorating, gardening
- Ability to generate enthusiasm during activities and willingness to participate in special events
- Flexibility working hours to meet the needs of special events
- Willingness to assume responsibility for learning and developing recreational activities
- Ability to work as a team member with all residence staff
