Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Ensure that all policies and procedure are followed
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.
- Conduct periodic internal reviews/audits on hiring documents, I-9 forms, bulletin boards to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.
- Provide employee training on updated policies and procedures.
- Liaise with Central Office - Civil Service, Background & Realignment Admin to obtain updates and directions on various issues.
- Work with the Kings County Regulatory Department during all regulatory surveys.
- Create improvement plans should an audit show any Human Resources deficiencies.
- Monitor Federal, State and City laws for changes that may affect the hospital.
- Handle escalations background check screening decisions
- Provide support in the development of functional job descriptions.
- Assist all other team members when needed to accomplish projects
- Respond to requests from Corporate Compliance
- Ensure the employee handbook is up to date
- Supervise the Nonboarders and Background team in the absence of that Manager
Minimum Qualifications
1. A Master's Degree with specialization in Personnel Management, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Psychology or Vocational Guidance, and two years of experience in personnel management or personnel administration in a large governmental agency, hospital or healthcare facility or civic organization or business firm employing at least three-hundred employees, one year of which must have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity; or,
2. A Baccalaureate Degree issued from an accredited college or university, and three years of experience as indicated in (1), two years of which shall have been in a responsible administrative or supervisory capacity. (Experience which consists solely of the maintenance of personnel transactions will not be accepted); or,
3. A satisfactory equivalent combination of education and experience.
