Compliance Manager
POAH Communities is seeking a highly qualified professional to serve as a
Compliance Manager to support the supports the POAH Communities property teams in their compliance efforts and oversees day-to-day compliance quality assurance, data analysis and data management.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Reporting to the Director of Compliance, the successful candidate will thrive in a team-oriented environment and should possess the following:

- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- 2-5 years of experience in property management, tax credit compliance, leasing, and/or related fields
- Tax Credit Specialist, Certified Occupancy Specialist, or similar professional designation
- Familiarity with Yardi software or similar property management software preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Knowledge of HUD regulations, forms, inspection criteria and processes
- Strong organizational skills with a keen ability to prioritize competing deadlines
- Ability to monitor own work to ensure quality and accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform administrative and office support activities
- Perform property compliance reviews to monitor and record compliance with POAH
Communities policies and procedures - Assist property staff in obtaining and maintaining active access to required online systems
including but not limited to: HUD Secure Systems (REAC, EIV, PASS FASS, etc.), SAVE, State
and/or agency reporting systems - Responsible for working with site-specific staff in a quality assurance role to operate programs
in an exemplary manner - Manage staff and site compliance operations, and make independent financial decisions
affecting the business operations of our properties - Manage staff and site compliance operations, and make independent financial decisions
affecting the business operations of our properties - Assist Project Accountants with resolving HAP voucher issues
- Assist with training, management systems, and in making suggestions for policies / procedures
and other management tools / resources so that the company can be in complete compliance
with all aspects of affordable housing programs which have program covenants. - Participate in providing compliance education/training (e.g. Compliance TIP of the week)
- Remain current on new regulations, law and technology and changes to the multifamily housing
programs we use - Serve as the POAH Communities Section 504 Coordinator
- Coordinate and draft responses to resident complaints; return calls to residents and
prospective residents - Review and consider all Reasonable Accommodation requests; work with property staff and Regional Property Supervisors as needed to consider requests and provide timely
communication and determination decisions to residents/applicants - Secondary Help Desk Responder for compliance related items
- Serve as REAC and EIV Coordinator
- Track and monitor Special Claims processing
- Ensure property transitions and set-up
- Perform and submit annual, quarterly, monthly reporting
- Direct and prioritize the work load of subordinate employees
- Responsible for development and performance management of her/his staff
- Perform administration, conduct interviews and make recommendations for new hires and/or
replacement employees - Complete other related tasks as assigned
