DCH is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of Compliance Specialist 2, Mammography Unit, with the Healthcare Facility Regulation Division. Applicant must be registered as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in the state of Georgia, which is a requirement for this job.
The Compliance Specialist 2, Mammography Unit, under general to limited supervision, conducts on-site surveys of X-ray/Mammography care facilities regulated by the state and FDA to determine compliance with applicable state and/or federal rules and regulations. Surveys are conducted either independently or as a part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Job Responsibilities
Under broad supervision, this position assists in the operations of a unit, developing and administering policy, procedures & plans, and performs special projects as delegated. Position may also plan, organize or coordinate the activities of an assigned program. This position also reviews, monitors and ensures compliance with assigned program area’s policies and procedures.
- Gathers data to determine compliance with applicable guidelines through on-site interviews with facility staff and/or clients, observation of procedures, inspection of environment and/or equipment, and review of applicable records.
- Compiles report of findings and deficiencies with appropriate and supporting evidence. Recommends adverse action if appropriate. Notifies facility of findings.
- Reviews and monitors facility’s Plan of Correction to determine compliance with applicable guidelines and timeliness of corrective action.
- Focuses survey in response to the priority of client’s needs and/or complaints, and as findings emerge, changes survey focus accordingly.
- Coordinates activities with appropriate agencies.
- Provides consultation and technical assistance to facility personnel and other interested parties in meeting certification requirements and planning corrective actions.
- May assist in providing training and guidance to new employed surveyors.
- Owns assigned tasks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Two years of related experience OR Associate's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND Three years of related experience OR Four years of related professional experience.
This position is homebased, meaning that employees assigned to these positions will work out of their home office and service all areas of Georgia. Travel comprises 75% of the job and extensive statewide travel is required.
Note: Applicant must be registered as an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in the state of Georgia, which is a requirement for this job. Possession of a valid driver’s license, which would enable the applicant to drive in Georgia, and use of a car at work, are required for employees in this job.
Preferred Qualifications: Preference will be given to candidates, who in addition to meeting the qualifications listed above, possess the following:
- Associate’s degree in radiologic technology AND five years of experience with at least two years in a position directly related to the area of assignment as described above OR Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology AND four years of experience as described above.
- Experience in conducting assessments and evaluations based on regulations, legal requirements and/or recognized accreditation standards
- Working knowledge and understanding of computer skills
- Certification(s) and/or Degree in one or more of the related fields: physicians; physician assistant; registered nurses, nurse practitioner; licensed practical nurses; physical, speech, or occupational therapy; dieticians, occupational health or safety (sanitarian engineers); social work; pharmacy; and gerontology
- Demonstrated ability to produce high quality documentation with attention to detail
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
