About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for a COMSEC Responsible Officer (CRO) at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
- Develop, adapt, and maintain advanced, highly reliable on-premises classified networks and platforms
- Support interconnectivity to cloud networks
- Innovate and identify opportunities to automate tasks as well as advance agile and secure solutions
- Collaborate with BAE Systems leaders and customer partners to maintain a multidisciplinary focus for large-scale projects
- Participate in the design and development of logical and physical topologies using best practices
- Provide technical expertise and assistance with network integration and consolidation efforts across the network environments
- Contribute ideas on how to continuously improve deployment of systems and processes
- Address and resolve complex technical priorities relating to the installation and upgrade of network hardware and systems
- Collaborate with customers, vendors and technical staff to understand and develop architectural solutions for the customer
- Document engineering standards and lead in the development of network architecture and engineering designs and changes
- Conduct technical assessments and make recommendations
- Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning
- Other duties as assigned
The position requires deep technical knowledge of systems, networks, and application security, as well as a solid understanding of enterprise-level security frameworks, policies, processes, and standards. The successful candidate must have strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex issues, attention to detail, and the ability to learn quickly and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

The applicant must meet DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification requirements within 6 months of hire date.
Citizenship
The applicant must be a U.S. Citizen
The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred but not required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Technical degree and years of relevant experience for this position are as follows:
BA/BS Degree: 10+ years
MA/MS Degree: 8+ years
- Minimum of 4 years managing COMSEC
- Experience performing all related functions to properly receive, issue, transfer, account for, and destroy COMSEC items
- Familiarity with relevant Air Force Instructions (AFIs), such as AFI 33-201, or equivalent other service branch COMSEC rules / regulations
- Experience preparing for and participating in government inspections
- Excellent organizational, communication (both verbal and written), and problem-solving skills
- Fast learner with ability to quickly comprehend technology and understand unique system requirements
- CompTIA Security+ or other DoD 8570 - IAT Level II certification required within six months of hire date
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- The applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance. An active Top Secret clearance is preferred but not required
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Preferred skills include experience with the following:
- Experience Managing and controlling accountable COMSEC items
- Experience working Special Access Program (SAP) security programs
- Experience supporting Type 1 Inline Network Encryptors (TACLANEs)
- Experience developing and implementing related security procedures for handling COMSEC and Classified COMSEC (CCI) in addition to other classified materials
- Hands on experience with either an SKL, TKL, or other recent Key Loader
- Knowledge of and experience with key destruction processes and procedures
- Experience with GovCloud and / or AWS networking is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and issues to non-technical leaders and users
- Ability to present complex and challenging information to executives
- Active Top Secret security clearance preferred
