- Management and reconciliation of all balance sheet and P&L accounts on a monthly basis to ensure the accuracy of account balances
- Update and maintain general and sub-ledgers
- Create and maintain all accounting and finance-related SOPs; implementing and improving internal controls as needed
- Assist in the creation of annual budgets by department and updates to forecasts throughout the year, utilizing actual performance and revised projections
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
- Prepare bi-weekly payroll data to submit to President for approval, including reimbursements, PTO, holiday pay, etc prior to submission to the current payroll processor
- Entry of AR invoices, cash receipts, vendor invoices, credit memos, payroll JEs, commissions, and bonus payouts
- Maintain schedules for WIP, inventory, prepaids, security deposits, fixed assets, loans, and misc liabilities
- Maintain rent and debt schedules
- Ensure renewal of all company vehicle registrations on a timely basis
- File annual report with Sunbiz.org
- Provide a weekly review and analysis of past due AR and AP to management with recommendations for resolution
- Create and maintain customer and vendor accounts in the accounting system to include necessary resale certificates and 1099s
- Assist with past-due AR collections as needed
- Create payment proposals for vendor payments via check, ACH, wires, and/or credit card
- Oversee the proper calculation and payment of sales & use tax liabilities in a timely manner
- Perform ad hoc reporting as requested
- Establish KPIs in coordination with key stakeholders
- File annual 1099 reports with IRS
- Provide year-end assistance and documentation to external CPA/auditors as necessary
- Research Accounting issues, evaluate and analyze financial data and trends; review and evaluate records, technical documents, and ledgers for accuracy and compliance with policies
- Construction accounting is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
